And just like that, February’s a memory.  Goodbye skiing, another year gone by too soon.

But as Spring starts to make its annual emergence, I hear the call of sundresses, flirty skirts, sandals, Panama hats, and more.  The days are getting longer, Daylight savings will soon give us light lovers an extra hour in the evening, and fashion trends are coming your way via my @fashionmeetsjess Insta page.

While it has been a busy winter for us, I am going to make it my mission to keep my fashion trend boards coming so that each week you have new inspiration.  I plan to include women, mens, and kids so that inspiration for the whole family is present.  Many of my boards are easily shop-able on my Amazon affiliate site – here – **reminder, as an Amazon affiliate I earn from qualifying purchases.

You can also shop my LTK (like to know it) page  – here – for more inspiration across the web and across many fine retailers **another disclaimer – I may earn from qualifying purchases from this site as well.

Feel free to head over to @fashionmeetsjess and DM or comment to let me know what boards or inspirations you are looking for, and we’ll do our best to cover those topics in one of our weekly posts!

Today’s boards draw from Amazon and focus on dresses for Spring & Summer, along with coordinating favorites like necklaces, sunglasses, hats, and purses.  I often wonder how there is ALWAYS new fashion available, and yet I am NEVER in want of finding new cute things to wear or shop – LUCKY us!

    the christmas show

We started going to the Christmas Show at the American Music Theater in Lancaster about 10 years ago.  Our first show was just Tom & I, before kids, and an instant tradition was born.  I still remember telling him after the show that this was something I wanted to do every year, and that I couldn’t wait to get to do this with our “future” kids.

Flash forward ten years, and this weekend we toted 4 kids, including two very active under four year-olds, to enjoy what has become one of our favorite traditions.  While COVID changed our plans last year, this annual constant in our schedule has been such a fun event.  For those of you who haven’t attended, people come from all over the mid-Atlantic to see the show.  Broadway style song and dance, classic Christmas costumes, a usual fun spin on Santa’s visit, and even some North Pole fun with elves (and this year Penguins?) makes for enjoyment for all.

As any parent knows, shows like this can produce some anxiety filled moments for parents.  In an audience filled with lots of “kidless” theater-goers, we have come to roll with the punches and come prepped with snacks, end-row seats, and emergency exit strategies.  Cameron was our biggest concern this year, as a 2 hour show is a loooong time to sit still for an active toddler.  He did as well as can be expected, alternating between my lap and sampling the various snacks strewn across our row.  The big girls really seemed into the show this year, as I caught them mouthing along to songs they knew and clapping with authority after songs.

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is less than two weeks away.  Crossing this tradition off of our list is one more sign that before long, Santa will be taking flight and beautiful presents wrapped in paper and bows will make it to our home.  With all the hustle and bustle in life, especially during the holidays, it is more important than ever to take time to enjoy the little moments we collect along this journey, and days like today included many of those moments that add to our Christmas story, which we continue to write one day at a time.

    shop.my.look

it’s no secret that fashion has always been a passion of mine.  From shopping trends, to nails, hair, and makeup, fashion & beauty have been a big part of my life.  One of the reasons I decided to start a blog and go public on Instagram was to share some of that passion and knowledge with the world.

As luck would have it, in addition to this blog, I have a terrific new outlet for this:  Like to Know It, now known as LTK.  Started as an influencer tool, LTK allows me to post my looks, like the on above, and link it to the actual products (or if not available, the closest ones we can find) with stoppable links.  This provides for a quick, seamless process for you to see the same brands I am wearing and even make purchases.

You can get to my LTK page via the “SHOP.MY.LOOK” link at the top of this page, and be sure to check back often for app exclusive content.  In addition to my outfits, I will be posting stoppable links for decor, makeup, and also family/fitness oriented products.  Even though I may earn small commission from purchase made through the site, the main reason I started this whole endeavor is not driven by monetization, but instead an outlet for a passion and skillset of mine that gives me great joy to share.

So go ahead, check out my LTK page: here.  And be sure to check back daily for new fashion trends, home decor, and chilren’s/men’s fashion.

    red.white.and glitter

So I am absolutely loving the new nails today!  Bright, seasonal red flanked by festive patterns makes for a super cute, super fun pop of holiday magic.

Our tree is up, frosted (flocked), lit, and now decorated.  I usually love to switch up our tree decorations, except for the family and kid keepsake ornaments.  The green Christmas ball I’m holding is actually about 3 times the size of a normal glass ornament, and it’s sparkle helps provide a beautiful reflection when up against the white bulbs currently filling the spaces of the Fraser fir we now posess.

    cyber monday fav.

With all the Cyber Monday deals, I wanted to call out my favorite site for matching kids/adults clothing and swimwear – Pat Pat. I discovered them years ago, and for some reason, their secret isn’t widely known, as literally every matching outfit we wear people stop to ask, and invariably no-one has ever heard of them.

This Cyber Monday, they are offering up to 70% off.  Their prices are super reasonable, and it usually takes about 7-10 days for orders to arrive, so still time to get those matching jammies for Christmas for the whole family!

    beach.coffee.mom.

Waves crashing.  Kids laughing.  Sand, sun, coffee, fun.  This crazy life with busy schedules, activities, school, dance, trips, etc. means there isn’t much time to pause and reflect.  Stealing a few moments on the inlet rocks to watch and take in the grandeur of it all was a welcome, albeit brief, respite from the daily circus.

Complementing my jeans by Stitch Fix is a simple, green knit sweater from Target.  Gold rimmed Ray-Bans help mute the harsh late-day sun this time of year.  Starbucks latte is a welcome companion and always a competent accessory to any cool weather outfit.

What is interesting as I reflect on this picture is how a brief instant snapped in digital form could represent someone’s entire day, gazing out into the ocean, or in my case, maybe a 60-second chance at a breather while Tom chases the kids around the beach.  Even though warmer weather is in retreat, there is still much fun to be had being close to ocean, and days like today remind me to stop and smell the salty air more than once in a while.

Kids Christmas outfits are all from Target as well, with Mr. Grinch debuting his oh-so-mean green sweater, and the girls enjoying a festive frolic with coordinating holiday garb.  Soon enough we will be trading ocean waves for snow flakes, and sandy beaches for snowy ski-lifts, but tomorrow will be here soon enough, and today is always enough for today.

    black friday. red lipstick.

Black Friday.  Red Lipstick.  I felt it only fitting to do a beauty post with the boldest of color lipstick on a day when retailers only think about Black.  And who doesn’t want to have some fun with bright red lips every now and again, especially during the holiday season.

When our family was just Tom & I, we used to line up early in the morning (or honestly, just after midnight) at the Tanger Outlets for a fun shopping experience for the two of us and some good doorbuster deals.  Now that we have little ones, we don’t out shopping as long lines, lots of people, narrow aisles and double strollers don’t mix well.

Today we traded in the hustle and bustle of retail shopping with the relative calm and biting cold of the tree farm close to our home.  We were able to pick out our annual tree despite the cold, and enjoyed a wagon ride with the kids and a quick visit with Santa and his workshop.

    lv style.

Chic shoot with historic brick, urban streetscape, and classic LV handbag.  Sweater from Target.  Sheer black leggings.  Patent leather pumps by Jimmy Choo. I don’t always go crazy spending money on clothes and shoes. I actually prefer a cute 15 dollar target sweater over other brands. Follow me to fashion and see all the places I have found some pretty awesome, very affordable clothing.

    coodinating.outfits.

Matching.  Coordinating.  You name it, we have done it.  Long before social media was filled with families doing their matchy matchy, I’ve been ordering and matching with my daughters, husband, and now son.

Over the past ten years, I have come to find that Pat Pat is my go-to site for matching family clothes at a great price.  When matching at the beach, on the boardwalk, or just going out to dinner, I have countless people ask me where I got my outfit (or, quite honestly, a lot of them ask me if I sewed them…haha!) and not one of them has ever heard of Pat Pat.
